God I love ice cream. It’s a luxurious treat that I love to indulge in, but it’s not exactly good for you.
Ice cream is packed with sugar, fat, and calories. It offers almost no nutritional benefits (says the boring rational side of my brain). I like to listen to the fun side of my brain that says, “but it tastes so good and gives you the ice cream happy feels!”
If this is a battle that wages in your mind, I’ve got the perfect thing to lift your spirits. What if I showed you how to make an ice cream that you could eat guilt-free? An ice cream that’s insanely easy to make, wildly delicious, and actually good for you? Remove your jaw from the floor because, yes, it is possible.
It’s one ingredient, baby!
Here’s some clean eating for you. This ice cream only has one ingredient. It’s all-natural, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and packed with nutrients. Drum roll, please! It’s…
Frozen banana!
That is all.
Before you guffaw and leave immediate, please give this recipe a try. It’s legitimately life-changing. Frozen banana whipped up in a food processor is utterly divine. It has a similar consistency and taste to ice cream. I think it tastes better sometimes and there’s no downside.
Ready to live in a world where you can eat ice cream to heart’s content guilt-free? Here’s how to do it.

Guilt-Free Frozen Banana Ice Cream Recipe
Servings: 2
Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
2 to 6 ripe bananas that have been frozen ahead of time. The riper the better in my opinion. I let my bananas go black and then remove the peel.
I cut my bananas into small pieces because it’s easier to blend in the food processor. Place the bananas in a bag or freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 24 hours.
Directions:
Remove the frozen banana from the freezer.
Place the frozen banana in a food processor and blend. Do this in batches if you have a small food processor or a lot of bananas.
Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides of the food processor every once and awhile. This process should take about 3-5 minutes.
Indulge! You can eat the banana ice cream straight from the food processor if you can’t wait to try it. For a firmer, more traditional ice cream texture, pop it in a freezer-safe container and freeze for an hour or more.
Spice Up Your Ice Cream With Variations
This banana ice cream is super versatile. You can add all sorts of things to create fresh new flavours to keep your taste buds dancing. Try adding these yummy ingredients to the mix:
- Cinnamon (my personal fave)
- Nuts or nut butters, like almond butter
- Frozen fruit like blueberries, raspberries, or anything you fancy!
- Coconut Milk to make it creamier
- Chocolate chunks (oh yeah!)
